Similar to the other element mouthpieces, the Earth is built to the same precise standards as other Theo Wanne mouthpiece, but at an affordable price. The unique small chamber, flat side walls, and long roll-over baffle all contribute to the versatile sound of the Earth mouthpiece. This makes it perfect as your first professional mouthpiece as it's ideal for all types of music.
The tip found on the Earth 6 mouthpiece is easier to blow compared to the 8 and has a more centred tone with little resistance. This amount of resistance is essential for producing the direct sound required for a direct tone. The tip holds good intonation, but can also produce small inflexions in the tone when required.
Even though the Earth mouthpiece is cheaper than Theo Wanne's professional models, it is still produced in the USA. Similar to all other Theo Wanne products, the Earth alto sax mouthpiece is manufactured using advanced machining techniques to ensure every mouthpiece is exactly the same. Crafted from professional grade brass, the Earth mouthpiece ensure the highest possible quality. Once the Earth mouthpiece has been completed, it is professionally plated with 24K gold with a reticulated finish to enhance airflow.

Theo Wanne is a modern expert on new and vintage woodwind mouthpieces. He became a saxophone repair technician over 20 years ago under the direction of master refacer Bob Carpenter - a pioneer of mouthpiece refacing and repairs. Theo soon gained a reputation within the saxophone world, and in 1998 opened Saxophone Mouthpiece Heaven which is his very own music store. In 2007 Theo started to design and manufacture his own line of mouthpieces and saxophones, working with famous musicians such as Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, and Eric Alexander.
