Rob Papen RAW takes after its name; designed to provide powerful distorted sounds with a focus on sound design and accessbility. First thought up by DJ Promo and DJ Free-K, they approached Rob Papen to design a virtual synthesizer that would make creating massive sounds a breeze, with an easy-to-use layout. Combining an intuitive workflow with massive sound design capabilities makes RAW a must-have plugin for any EDM music producer. From DnB to Dubstep and from UKG to House, RAW gives you all the tools you need to create virtually sound you can think of. Armed with two oscillators (complete with an X/Y field) as well as a range of powerful effects, you can shape and sculpt any sound you can think of.

Not only that but RAW is packed with classic Rob Papen filters as well as the introduction of EQ, Waveshaper, Distortion and LoFi settings added on a voice synthesis level for added flexibility. Not only that, but RAW comes complete with a huge variety of presets created by renowned DJs and artists.

Create the RAWest sounds ever!

RAW was birthed from wanting to create a simple-to-use synthesizer that is possible of creating monstrous, distorted sounds. Taking this idea, Rob Papen invited DJ Promo and Free-K to his personal studio to develop this groundbreaking virtual synth. At the heart of RAW are two oscillators, each with their own X/Y field so you can add movement to your sound with ease.

Using the X/Y field you can even record your movements and play them back or save them to a preset for later use. You can also draw in your own waveforms (up to two) so you can use them as an LFO waveform which is ideal for creating wobble movements. Ideal for a wide range of EDM genres, RAW has been championed by artists from the Dubstep, DnB, Grime, Garage and Trance scene, renowned for its powerful sounds and unique musical style.

Two FX banks with a range of processing tools

Accompanying the two oscillators, RAW features two FX sections dedicated to each oscillator as well as a modulation matrix. Here you can shape, sculpt and warp your sound to your heart’s content thanks to the wide range of studio-grade effects on offer. You are provided with an arsenal of effects including Chorus, Phase, Flanger, Stereo Delay, Custom HQ Reverb and more. There is also an onboard arpeggiator/sequencer so you can create rhythmic melodies.

It wouldn’t be a Rob Papen plugin without including a massive amount of presets. Created by leading sound designers and music artists, the presets span everything from aggressive bass patches to mystic pads and even sound FX. Whether you need a starting point or want to create something there and then, the intuitive preset browser allows you quickly find the sound you want. You can also save your own presets – perfect for sound designers.
