Draw your own curves
Powered by the proprietary filter-adaption technology, MFreeformAnalogEQ lets you draw in your EQ curve directly onto the graphic interface, with the plug-in then finding the most accurate settings for your curve. While parametric EQs may sound good, they're often cumbersome to use and with the MFreeformAnalogEQ, you don't need to mess around with multiple filter parameters to get the sound you want, supercharging your workflow.
Applicable for just about any audio application, the MFreeformAnalogEQ delivers an authentic vintage tone that works for individual instruments, entire busses, sound design and even mastering applications. The plug-in not only shows the result of your processing, but it also features an integrated analyzer, sonogram and spectrum to provide visual feedback of your signal, ideal for precise mastering applications to avoid frequency masking.
Authentic tube saturation
Emulating the sound of vintage hardware EQs, MFreeformAnalogEQ includes an analog-modelled tube saturation circuit. Subtle harmonic enhancement creates an authentic analog sparkle in the high-end. The Saturation circuit is independent of the EQ bands themselves, whereby increasing the gain of each band won't enhance the amount of saturation, making it ideal for global control over your sound design.
Comprehensive MIDI control
Having the freedom to draw your EQ curve isn't limited to a mouse and keyboard. With MFreeformAnalogEQ, the powerful MIDI processor lets you use a MIDI keyboard or controller to draw in parameters in real time.
Powerful spectrum analyzer and sonogram
Essential for EQ, MFreeformAnalogEQ features a versatile spectrum analyzer and sonogram with features such as peak detection, high resolution, deharmonization, pre-filtering and much more. Peak detection lets you easily explore dominant frequencies while the super-resolution provides more accurate resolution in the low-end. Deharmonization creates an analysis of fundamental frequencies and pre-filtering creates auditory stimulation emulating human hearing.
Store, save and share your presets
Once you have found a sound that suits the needs of your mix or project, Melda have included a carefully designed storage database to load up your presets in any future projects in any host. Inside the preset database, your presets can be automatically uploaded to a shared server where other like-minded users can download your presets. You can also download presets direct from the database to your plug-in and expand your collection of presets from other users in the community.
Combine several parameters together with Multiparameters
Ideal for experimental sound design, Multiparameters let you manipulate multiple parameters together in one macro control. With this, you can completely transform your sound in as few steps as possible, making it ideal for automation purposes or for combining several multi-parameters to create a unique sound unheard of before.
Automatic gain compensation (AGC)
When creating tones or browsing presets within Melda MFreeformAnalogEq, you will only hear the change in sound that your processing applies and not the volume change. We can often be fooled into thinking that a louder sound is better without the context of hearing how it sounds when level-matched. Melda has included Automatic Gain Compensation across the entire plug-in which adapts to settings to ensure the output is only as loud as the input to make better mixing decisions.
Not only this, but Melda MFreeformAnalogEq also features a Safety Limiter fixed to the output level at 0dB. This ensures that any adjustments to the output volume that you make in your processing won't go above digital clipping and will hit the brick wall limiter, saving your ears from any potentially harmfully loud sounds.
Audition multiple settings instantly
With such a wide array of different tones available inside MFreeformAnalogEq, you might struggle to find which song fits your music the best. To help you quickly compare several different settings, Melda has included an A/B comparison switch. This lets you audition two settings simultaneously without needing to dial in the settings every time.
Taking it one step further, Melda MFreeformAnalogEq includes A - H switching, offering up to eight slots of settings where you can freely switch between all eight to find the right sound for your song. Additionally, Slots A - D are available in the built-in X-Y pad, letting you blend between four potential settings and find the right balance between each of them.
