Thanks to a range of different patches, the Organelle can be used to create whatever sound you want. This innovative digital instrument loads these patches in for playing. The versatile sound engine is capable of reading Pure Data patches meaning that a wide array of sounds can be created. You can create these yourself - Pure Data is free - so if you can dream it, you can make it.
If you're looking for a way to improve your programming skills, the Organelle is a great host for your own patches. Meaning you can practise coding and use your homebaked patches - a very tangible way to field test your own code. There is also a large community of developers that create patches for you to use.
The huge range of connectivity options makes the Organelle a very versatile piece of kit. On the back, you can find a glut of inputs and outputs. There are line ins and outs for connecting to audio interfaces or amplifiers. Send in and out MIDI data for sequencing via a DAW or other hardware. Input a pedal for added sound design depth. There is even an HDMI port for plugging the Organelle into a display unit. The Organelle is a fully featured music computer that is small enough to be thrown in a bag.
In the centre of the Organelle is a small but very clear screen. This screen is incredibly useful for navigating through your patch bank. As well as giving visual feedback to any parameters you may be changing. The unit also features RGB LED lights, used as indicators.
Immediately obvious to anyone who looks upon Organelle's minimal design are the 25 responsive maple keys. You can use these keys as a keyboard but can also be used to control different parameters if your patch is programmed in such a way. On the top half of the Organelle are four parameter knobs which have been included for changing the shape and sound of your patch with optimal precision.
So no matter what you want to make - whether that's beats, bass, or melodies. Soundscapes, drones, and textural ambience. The fantastic controls on the Organelle allow for maximum fun and maximum results.
