The Marshall DSL100H Valve Guitar Head is one of Marshall's most popular amps and for very good reason - it delivers completely authoritative, real-valve tones with a great level of versatility at a huge 100 watt power level. It is based on the popular JCM2000 and has the same valve combination of ECC83 (12AX7) preamp valves feeding EL34 power tubes. The DSL100H has 2 channels which each have 2 individual gain modes, giving you a total of 4 overall gain levels. This gives you the ability to achieve everything from crystal clean sounds through to light-breakup, moving onto crunch and finally into all-out tube saturation. This versatility is what makes the DSL format so popular with gigging and recording musicians. It also includes 5 EQ controls so you can dial in your perfect setup. The Tone Shift button provides an option for scooping the mid-range and giving this amp a more modern tone. A series FX loop and half-power mode provide some added professional features, making the DSL100H an all-encompassing tone machine with a true rock and roll heritage.

DSL is an acronym for Dual Super Lead, so it should come as no surprise that this amp has two footswitchable channels - Classic and Ultra. Furthermore, each of these channels boasts two modes: the Classic channel offers a Clean / Crunch option while the Ultra offers Lead 1 or Lead 2. Instead of merely offering a variation in gain level to the two channels, each one of these four modes has been individually voiced as an amp in its own right. The tremendous tonal versatility of this amp, coupled with a 100% pure valve signal path (4x ECC83s, 4x EL34s), Dual Reverb controls, a Tone Shift switch which scoops out the mids and a Deep Switch that adds a tight, bowel loosening, low end boost, caused the guitar world to sit up and take notice right from the outset.
