The Martin OMC-16E is equipped with an Orchestra body shape, and offers a superb resonant sound with a powerful projection. An elegant cutaway design is also incorporated into this body shape allowing easier access to those unreachable high frets.
Players can benefit from the combination of sitka spruce soundboard and cherry body for a superb tone and classic look. Sitka spruce provides an ideal diaphragm for sound projection, along with longevity and strength. Combined with a cherry body, the Martin OMC-16E delivers a rich, dense articulate tone with great sustain and clarity.
For added comfort, the Martin OMC-16E features a high performance neck profile that makes it easy to move up and down the fingerboard with fluid hand flexibility. Another great feature is the newly introduced Plek technology from Germany. The benefits of this new technology create the finest playing surface possible, and ensure the frets always give you an optimum playing experience.
Like others in the 16 series, the Martin OMC-16E is also equipped with a forward shifted bracing pattern that features sitka spruce braces in the form of an X. Located behind the soundboard, the X pattern provides a continuous flow of strength from the upper bout to the lower bout, and enhances the overall tone and vibration.
For added volume, players can benefit from the on-board Fishman Matrix VT Enhance electronics. This discreet pickup and preamp features an accessible soundhole-mounted Volume and Tone rotary controls, along with a 384 hour battery life. This low profile unit, delivers a clear, transparent tone with dynamic string response, and is ideal for lager performances where extra volume is needed.
Please note: Martin do not ship their guitars with the strap button installed on the bottom of the guitar. They do this to avoid any impact cracks that may occur during shipping. You can find your strap button inside the case compartment.
