The most unique feature of the Traktor Kontrol S4 is its stem control. This is a new feature that allows you to add in purchased stems to your mixes, allowing you to create unique live performances and improvise on-the-fly. Create your own breakdowns and buildups in the middle of tracks, and provide your crowd with something they are not expecting. The stem feature allows you to add in and take out individual stems into your DJ mix whenever you please. You can add individual stems such as the vocals, drums, or synths. Kontrol S4 provides you with 4 stem/remix pads, allowing you to add 4 individual stems. For example, you can take out the melody from the current track playing, and then mix the other melody in from the other track to create a seamless mix. Additionally, you can edit the stems on-the-fly. You can loop and filter them. Make mixes seamless and create unique performances by utilising stems for seamless mixing between tracks.
The Traktor Kontrol S4 features a range of easy-to-use functions and controls that allow you to create unique and creative performance. It features 4-channels, all with 3-band EQ and a high/low-pass filter control, allowing you to colour your sound, and add texture and excitement to build-ups. The Kontrol S4 DJ controller also features 2 FX sends for each deck, allowing you to control 2 FX at once. The loop recorder tool allows you to record loops on the fly, perfect for mixing the next track in, or creating a larger and longer build-up. You can record the track playing or any audio source, then overdub loops to build live mixes and improvise. The sync function ensures super-tight and accurate mixing every time, allowing you to leave beat-matching to the DJ controller, and focus on your effects and getting creative with the stem control.
The Traktor Kontrol S4 features a compact design that makes it ideal for the travelling DJ. It is easily portable, and allows you to plug straight into the speakers at a club/venue and start DJing. The plug & play operation means you can get set up and practice DJing straight out of the box.
