The Overtone Labs Tune-Bot Studio Drum Tuner allows you to measure the pitch of your drums at several different points across the drumhead. You can simply choose one pitch or frequency which you like, and adjust the entire drum to match that exact frequency for the balanced, clean sound which every drummer dreams of. The Tune-Bot Studio features an upgraded saving system, letting you store a preset for each of your drums that you have tuned. There are five kit spaces, with up to ten drums on each kit, and three spaces for the top head, bottom head, and fundamental pitch for each drum. Overtone Labs understand that in some scenarios, drummers may need to tune higher than 400Hz which was the limit for the standard Tune-Bot. The Tune-Bot Studio Drum Tuner increases the frequency range up to 450Hz, ideal for drummers tuning smaller drums or even snares.
Once you have measured the fundamental pitch of your chosen drum (the lowest and loudest pitch that drums produce), you can begin to measure the pitch of each lug individually, allowing you to get the drum in tune with itself. When tuning the top head of your drum, it is important to mute the opposite drumhead to remove unwanted interference. Attach the Tune-Bot to your hoop and begin moving around the drum, tapping the drum 1'' in from the hoop at each lug point. Once you have measured each lug, you can decide on a certain frequency (or lug point) to use as your reference pitch to tune all of your other lugs to. Using the 'difference mode' on the Tune-Bot Studio allows you to set a zero point so that you can adjust each lug individually, tuning it higher or lower in relation to your reference pitch. The aim is to get each lug within 2Hz of each other for the best sound. Once complete, simply repeat the process using the 'difference mode' for your other drums.
