Maple HVX Shell

DW Performance snares feature 10-ply HVX construction. This brand new shell technology devised by John Good and the DW Custom Shell Shop in California. DW takes hand-selected North American Hard Rock Maple and uses the latest grain orientation technology to produce HVX shells that deliver low, punchy tones with plenty of resonance and projection. This innovative hybrid makes them perfect for live applications.

All Performance shells are cool tempered which means that once they have been baked under pressure they are pressurised cooler to ensure that the glue instantly crystalises and the shell hardens to a perfect cylinder. This gives the shells maximum strength, perfect roundness, and enhanced resonance. The process also greatly increases the stability of your tuning.

DW Hardware

Further increasing the tuning stability, the Performance Series comes with fine-threaded True-Pitch tension rods to ensure tuning stays firmly in place.

The DW Performance Drums are custom-inspired, with double threaded centre lugs, new badge, logo head and a hand-sprayed lacquer finish. They're designed to be recognisable for a reason. Easy to tune, superior sounding HVX shells, combined with DW heads by Remo USA, True Pitch™ Tuning, all-new MAG throw-off and DW 45-degree back-cut bearing edges, make these drums sing.

Chrome Standard Triple Flange Hoops give these drums a really versatile sound that suits all types of players from jazz and funk to rock and hip-hop. The steel triple flange hoops on this snare are 3.0mm.

Remo Heads

DW Performance Series drums come standard with a set of heads made especially for DW by Remo USA. Snare drums come with our Coated Control Sound batter heads (with tuning sequence numbering) and Clear snare side resonant heads.
